Chapter 4 The Loss of Light

“Hmmm, I don’t think we’ll be going this way” Kerin said as she looked out over the Hill the Orders Front stood on looking down in to Two Rivers. Purple cloaked paladins everywhere walking along the docks. The group had walked over the Plains of Pelor to make their way to Paraous City. Assavari was determined to move through the City and get a ship to Paraous.  The group fought about what way to go, being pressed for time Assavari wanted to go through Two Rivers but Kerin wouldn’t have it, she began to walk away in the direction of the Dark Forest to cut through.

The woods were dark, the canopy covering the bottom path. The sounds of wind attempting to pass the dense brush can be heard while walking along the path, suddenly as you walk down the dark path you hear a loud screeching sound and a small creature, no taller than one foot jumps out on all fours, it looks at you with its bright yellow eyes, screeching the same sound you had heard a moment ago it leaps back into the brush.

As the adventurers walked along they came across a small Inn with a big sign “We promis protection from all things in the Forest!” After a moment Kerin gets a questionable look on her face “This is going to be interesting…” Cadmael said. The Orders Front walked into the Inn and inquired, they heard stories about all manner of creatures, from the Werewolves, the Gnarls and “The Others” as they were called. The Gnarls are small black creatures that were spotted earlier, usually traveling in packs it was a good thing you managed to avoid that encounter.

The most curious thing were “The Others” tall creatures of a mysterious nature that only came out at night time, they seemed to kill without remorse or cause. Something to avoid for sure.

After venturing outside the Orders Front had a close encounter with one of The Others but managed to escape, falling down an old well which seemed to be an entrance to some dark tomb.

Upon exploring the Tomb the Orders Front found a large Minotaur  that was in the midst of sacrificing some of the patrons from the Inn. The group managed to kill the Ogre, despite some critical errors in their attack plan and were able to move on.

Venturing throughout the Tomb the Orders Front found a mimic of Cyric, after a long discussion the group noticed that Cadmael had gone missing. No one had heard the scream from down the hallway, Cadmael had been killed by a trap when he wandered off… Or so they thought, quickly, they gathered his near dead body and rushed out of the Dark Forest to Paraous City to seek aid, a healer perhaps? Someone to save their friend before it was to late.
