Chapter 7, 1 of Alturiak

Ursar is no longer with us. Our attempts to reason with the minotaurs of the Red Prison went exceptionally poorly. Battle ensued and the mighty bear dwarf met his end. Many mistakes were made that day. We will be taking his remains to his people that they may perform whatever rites are customary for the Ursari.

Io’s Red Hand contact was freed. Let us hope that the organization does all they can to make up the hefty cost of their foolish errand.

The sad farmer proved to be an Oni preying upon the children of the villagers. The beast was dealt with, the surviving children returned to their homes, and a set of Oni horns have been added to my collection.
Before Ursar’s tragic end he was at least able to see some of the wonders inherent to druidic magic. We stumbled upon the fabled Red Tower. One of their acolytes was able to translate that odd forest tome while Ursar was entertained by the headmaster’s spells and inspections. I have yet to look over the tome given the troubles we’ve had.

Soon we should be entering the forest home of Yurin’s people. Perhaps being present for the birth of his child will aid Cadmael in finding his purpose in this world again. I will be glad to find and restore the Earth Aspect, getting one step closer to fixing all that is wrong with this world.
