Chapter 8, 21 of Alturiak

There may be something to Cadmael’s comment about just going home to the Badger. Let the world do what it will while we focus our attentions on our establishment. But nothing is ever easy.

The minotaurs of Kasavan are preparing for war, Paramar seems to be backing them up - or I suppose it would be the other way around. They’ll likely be marching against the Fey elves of the overgrown forest.

The gods are angry with us, or so Antanis the Ordrakari tells us. He says the reason Cadmael and Dunn have been able to channel their divine magic is due to the shielding Keaala and Vincent have gifted us. The Raven Queen made every attempt possible to inform our many enemies of our attempts to awaken the aspects. Antanis has, so he claims, come to us because he was unable to find the souls of Spiros and Ursar to shepherd to their afterlife. I am certain Keaala has them with her.

Now we’re preparing to slay a green dragon, the same one who betrayed me and killed Spiros for sport. I hope that Aragathar, the ancient green matriarch who tasked us with this, does not do the same.

Alexander is with us, after all but walking head first into the mass of Paramar forces outside of the forest. I forgot Alexander left Darris Ryn before Aramays met with Sophia. As a result he was abruptly made aware that his mother, long thought dead, was alive and well in Darris Ryn. Not only alive, but urging Aramays to muster an army! For what, I don't know. I need to research a way to communicate from a distance in more than 25 words.

Ursar’s body is still stuffed in the bag of holding. I would love to return him to his people, so they might put him to rest, but our first task is finding Yurien.

Cadmael needs to be of sound mind so that we can focus on fulfilling our vows of awakening the aspects. There will have no chance of settling into a life of comfort until we have restored balance to the world.
