The Fall of the Light
This site is under constant construction. Please bear with us. This site is a huge feat and we're working very hard to get it caught up to the story and the amount of content that has been prepared.
Letter 1
I know it has been quite some time since I've been able to write you, and I'm sorry. Things have just been rather hectic recently. The winds of fate sweep us in strange directions it seems. Today I came across a few familiar faces, two of the three who saved me. They did not appear too upset by my declaration of abandoning the Red Hand. I guess they have seen the less righteous side of the organization for themselves then. I chose to travel alongside them to finish the task they were up to, to help repay them for rescuing me. I may end up staying longer than I thought though. I realize you're probably not happy to hear that.
We traveled through a tomb that contained various puzzles and riddles, it was quite fun actually until we were faced with a fierce battle. I was injured, but do not wish to make a fuss about it. I only hope I do not slow anyone down. I've done my best to help treat any wounds obtained, but there is only so much one can do with limited time and basic supplies. I will certainly need to craft some more potent remedies if these last battles were any indication.
Upon reaching the sanctuary of the tomb I learned of a powerful group of beings known as the aspects and their purpose in the world. Embodiments of different elements that make up this world, existing before even the gods. We were shown a vision of the rather sad tale that gave them existence, and a display of their power. I am not sure I trust them completely, but if they are the best bet to striking a blow against Paramar and the God who fuels them, I will give them my oath. This pledge is not without cost, but it's one I am willing to pay. They must pay for what they've done.
My traveling companion, the one I found in the desert, had some reserves and a few issues with the paladin and the halfling girl, Kerin, at first. I think she has been swayed slightly towards accepting him, but I doubt they will be instant friends. The Paladin is a lost cause for companionship I believe. Nash decided to take the oath in the end as a means to avenge those he lost, but part of it appears to be encouraged by some sort of loyalty to me. I appreciate his gratitude, and must admit have been coming to think of him as a friend, but I do not wish to sway him either way. In the end we must all act true to what lies within our hearts.
I have not known the others long enough to form a strong opinion yet. I have a few initial observations though. From what I have seen they are all deathly loyal to one another, and the Paladin called Alexander has an especially protective streak. He seems a very honorable person, but quick to judge others for lacking it. He was not ungrateful to me for bandaging his ankle at least. I might have had to trip him if he dared give me some snappy attitude when I was helping him. He did save me during the battle, so regardless of his reluctance to be civil I appreciate his assistance. Kerin, the halfling, seems a very intelligent girl but not very trusting at first. There are some dark times in her past that still plague her I think. Cadmael seems to be the most level headed of the group. He is dedicated to protecting them in his own way and I already have started to have a great respect for him.
I have much to think on, and am growing tired. So I shall rest for now. Tomorrow brings the dawn of a new day.
Sincerely Yours,
Song
